A project manager for manufacturing maintains relationships between the company that manufactures and the customers to whom it distributes its products and services. They oversee a range of projects and accounts; they also evaluate new build plans, evaluate various processes during the manufacturing process, and ensure a constant communication channel with suppliers and customers. The project manager interacts directly with customers of the company to help them assess and meet their requirements. Additionally the project manager is responsible for responsibility for the manufacturing facility directly. They make sure that safety standards are adhered to and that any risks that could arise are removed.
A project manager in manufacturing typically requires a bachelor's degree in business or another related field like finance, management, or accounting. When the manager is working at a greater scale, like on a national or regional scale, they usually require between two and four years of experience as a project director or in the same role.
