A PC maintenance technician’s primary responsibilities revolve around maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, networks, and peripherals. A maintenance technician will normally be required to have an associate’s degree in IT or computer science, experience, and/or industry certifications. The technician should have extensive knowledge of common systems and programs.The maintenance technician will spend a great deal of time servicing others’ machines, as well as working remotely on computers and networks. He or she will be required to exhibit knowledge of a large variety of systems and programs to troubleshoot whatever issues may arise in a timely manner.
