Support specialists for sales are accountable to provide support throughout the selling process. They assist customers in resolving problems related to sales in a timely way, usually providing in-real-time assistance. Specialists can also escalate issues when required to supervisors or another departments within their company. They maintain records of customer interactions, help with requests that are not standard, such as support for customers with a legacy and offer solutions across platforms for various products or services.
Support specialists for sales also manage databases for sales, which includes eliminating data that is not needed. They make lists of prospective clients and then share the results with their team. Sales support specialists make sure that there is that contracts are accurate regarding pricing, and could be the primary source of communication for representatives in the field. Their main duties includes tracking sales orders as well as helping in shipping problems.
High school graduation is required to be able to perform this job. Additionally, prior work experience in sales is a plus. They must be able to work with others in a team setting however, they must also be able to perform independently. They must behave professionally as a representative between their company and their customers. Sales support professionals must be extremely organized and able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
