Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi (CUSAT) was established in 1971 under the Government of Kerala, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). It was earlier known as the University of Cochin. The college provides 14 undergraduate programmes, 53 postgraduate programmes and 9 M.Phil and Ph.D programmes related to different subjects. CUSAT also provides various infrastructural and academic facilities to the students and faculty members of the Institute. CUSAT is spread over an area of 180 acres. Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In NIRF 2021 Ranking, Cochin University of Science and Technology has been ranked 65th in the overall category. Considering various graduation outcomes, teaching, learning, and resources, perception, outreach and inclusivity, research and professional practice the varsity has been ranked 44 in the NIRF 2021 ranking for the university category.
