Their main responsibility is to oversee a company's finance and other departments. In this capacity the accounting coordinator typically manages accounts payable and receivable and also does bookkeeping tasks directly or supervises the staff who perform the task. Another important task for an accounting manager is serving as the liaison between the financial department of the company and clients from outside, participating in communication related to transactions, and also executing plans formulated by executives and managers.

The accounting coordinator is responsible for many tasks to perform and should have the ability to oversee multiple departments simultaneously and ensure that they are working in a cohesive manner. This requires a high level of writing and verbal communication and effective time management and analytical and problem-solving abilities. The accounting coordinator should have an in-depth understanding of the various aspects of the bookkeeping and accounting process.
