A change analyst generally works on problems of a diverse scope, where data requires analysis and evaluation. This position requires someone who demonstrates excellent judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. A change analyst is someone who works mostly alone and without daily instructions, someone who has a take-charge attitude.The change analyst is a critical member of the product development team, who interfaces directly with internal and external outsourcing partners as required. Excellent communication is vital to the change analyst role. Change analysts must provide clear input to the project team in regards to scheduling and issues related to documentation. They must consistently drive best practices through documentation control policies and procedures across functions. In order for a person in this role to be successful, it is critical that they have the ability to program-manage multiple tasks, lead cross-functional peers, and report statuses to management on product deliverables.To become a change analyst, one must be certified. Currently, you only need to take the training class and pass the exam to receive the change analyst certificate. The certification is not valid for a specific time frame and it does not expire. A bachelor's degree in a related field is frequently required for this position.
