The chief compliance officer is accountable for the financial and operational aspects within their companies. At a minimum, chief compliance officers have bachelor's degrees in business. most often they have Master's degrees or Doctoral degree in the fields of auditing, regulatory affairs accounting or another related area. A majority of them are certified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or an accredited internal auditor. Chief compliance officers typically work full-time in a workplace and often work overtime during the reporting or accounting period.
