Digital project managers are the main driver for the digital initiatives of an organization.
As with all project managers, this type of project supervisor gets involved at the beginning of the lifecycle of a project. They assist to define the specifications and parameters. After establishing specifications and requirements the digital project manager has to go through the project and split the project into pieces or tasks to be accomplished by various teams. This includes assigning and explaining the necessary tasks and the project as an entire to each team. As each team completes their respective tasks the digital project manager will keep track of progress and ensure that the benchmarks are met within certain dates.
When the project's individual pieces are complete The digital project manager supervises the integration of these pieces into the final project. They also oversee testing to ensure that the project is in line with the specifications required and meets relevant quality standards. The digital project manager supervises the release of the product to the customer and handles any other problems that may arise following the release.
Digital project managers need to be well-organized and have the ability to solve problems. Because of their technical aspect of their work it is necessary to have a bachelor's degree in a related area (which could differ based upon the type of digital product) is usually required.
