The director of strategic planning is responsible for planning the company's overall goals and mission. They collaborate with other executives in the company to accomplish these goals through research as well as planning and evaluation. The director studies patterns in market trends, predicts patterns, studies competitors' actions, and then formulates a cohesive strategy that are based on the research. The end result of the research and observations is a coherent strategy and plan which the strategy director will present to the top executives of the business for approval. Director of Strategy could also be in charge of organizing training for employees at lower levels within their company and also. The director of strategy typically is employed full-time for a single company however, they could be consultant to multiple businesses on an hourly basis. A bachelor's degree from a relevant field is usually required for this job; an MBA or equivalent degree from a higher institution could also be preferred. A significant amount of prior experience in the field of work is also required. They must possess excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
