They study trends in employee relations and provide regular reports, and suggest ways to address problematic trends following thorough research. They usually communicate their findings to the vice president of human resources head of their company.

Other duties performed by employee relations managers include directing a group comprising human resources professionals in the distribution of benefits programs for employees and utilizing personal computers to maintain the correct records of employees' interactions, schedules, suggestions, and communication regarding employee benefits programs. Managers of employee relations are accountable for overseeing and managing of employee relations issues, internal investigations and quick resolution of problems. An undergraduate degree from human resource management or similar fields is necessary for this position.
