They usually communicate their findings to the vice president of human resources head of their company.
Other duties performed by employee relations managers include directing a group comprising human resources professionals in the distribution of benefits programs for employees and utilizing personal computers to maintain the correct records of employees' interactions, schedules, suggestions, and communication regarding employee benefits programs. Managers of employee relations are accountable for overseeing and managing of employee relations issues, internal investigations and quick resolution of problems. They also oversee the investigation procedure for internal complaints about discrimination or harassment, retaliation and other employment-related issues that are high-risk. They investigate internal grievances in which management is involved and recommend appropriate action.
An undergraduate degree from human resource management or similar fields is necessary for this position. Additionally, prior experiences in the field of employee relations are usually required in addition. Leadership and industry certifications can be helpful. Managers of employee relations must possess excellent communication skills to improve satisfaction of employees and address difficult workplace issues.
