Infrastructure analysts are accountable for coordinating and overseeing the life-cycle and maintenance of the IT infrastructure, which includes servers, storage, and other components of systems management. This involves running a variety of technical and complex projects to assess the long-term viability of the systems management and planning. they also have to design and build infrastructures, and supervise their maintenance.

Infrastructure analysts should be able to ensure the availability of their systems through backups and redundant systems integrated into the system through updates, patches, and preventive maintenance. They must be able to collaborate with other departments within the organization to keep the servers to established standards. They should also establish security measures for the systems and conduct regular maintenance checks on a regular basis.
