Security consultants (computing/networking/information technology) often work in large organizations and educational institutions that have large digitized databases.
Security professionals must be able to adapt to any industry they might be able to specifically serve. They should have excellent organization and ability to communicate.
They should design and/or enhance an infrastructure that safeguards the institution from external and internal loss of data. Protecting information from terrorist groups could also be an issue.
Security experts also design emergency plans for their clients. When they plan, they begin by assessing the potential risks and then design the procedure that will allow the business to implement the plan during specific situations or natural disasters.
The majority of companies require security professionals to possess at minimum a an undergraduate degree as well as at least three or five years' experience in the field. The bachelor's level in computing science are especially desired in the networking, computing or information technology fields. Engineering degrees can also be beneficial along with the CAD expertise. The most common security analyst certification is offered by the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC).
