Description

The Proposal Manager oversees all of the proposals submitted by an organization. They typically are involved in every aspect that are involved in the process of submitting proposals, however, they can delegate specific tasks, and supervise the final proposal.

Managers of proposals spend a significant amount of their time reviewing proposals. They ensure that they are aware of the expectations of the client; they review those expectations, along with the deadline and budget, to determine whether or whether to accept the proposal. Any concerns or questions are discussed with the client prior to starting the proposal process.

After they have confirmed that with their client the proposal managers start to create their proposal plans. The plan outlines all the stages of a proposal along with the deadlines and requirements. Based on the phases the proposal is going through, the manager of the proposal starts delegating certain tasks to contractors, employees, or consultants.

During the process of submitting proposals the proposal manager must supervise the teams and ensure the progress is made efficiently and in line with the clients' requirements. Once the initial draft is finished, the proposal manager must verify that the proposal is correct and will satisfy the requirements from the customer. If there are no changes that need to be made the proposal is then sent to the client for a review.

If the client is satisfied with the agreement, then the manager of the proposal talks with them to sign the contract. If the client does not like this proposal, then the proposal manager will meet with the team in order to figure out the reasons for rejection and how they could improve.
