Retail managers are responsible for managing the operations of a retail establishment which includes the hiring and firing of store employees, directing the inventory and directing customer service. The duties of a retail manager differ based upon the dimensions of the shop. In many cases, managers of smaller stores are able to take on a greater scope of duties than managers of larger ones.
