A warehouse coordinator is the person who is primarily responsible for overseeing the daily, overall operations within a warehouse. This is a position which can require long hours, and overtime may be necessary. Formal education is typically not required in order to be a warehouse coordinator. Typically, experience within a warehouse is more valuable than experience within the classroom. This is a supervisory position.

A warehouse coordinator will have a variety of responsibilities that relate to coordinating their warehouse. Some typical responsibilities include controlling warehouse inventory, coordinating the movement of the product, overseeing the product from production to shipping, monitoring production, maintaining inventory, documenting all actions, completing forms and reports, maintaining product databases, accomplishing distribution missions, storing items in an orderly manner, packing and unpacking items, disposing of defective items, cleaning and maintaining supplies, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, marking stock items with tags and stamps, providing assistance to other employees, determining proper storage methods, issuing and distributing materials, distributing products and parts to customers and coworkers, purchasing new and additional materials, selling materials and equipment, advising retail customers, preparing inventory reports, conferring with purchasing vendors regarding availability of products, compiling and reviewing data regarding orders, and assisting coworkers in any way necessary.
